There are several good videos out there! I'm really pumped to try this thing, especially since I'm a fan of overdrive. The clean sound is ridiculous too. I got a good deal on mine. I'll of course babble about it here and let you guys know how it is. 8-)

I have owned mine for a few months now. Several gigs with it and I will say... Its the best, most headroom little amp I have ever owned. I even had Death Angel's road guys asking what I was playing thru to FOH (DI). I wasn't even using the dirty channel.

This is one micro that can keep up with the big boys. Kudos to Douglas for prolonging the development on this to make sure its solid.... AND making it 900w rating.

Just got mine today. Been playing around with it. Holy shit, what a monster. My next show is this weekend so I'll be able to really put it through its paces. The dirty channel is glorious.

money well spent!! If you need a bag to carry it in, get one of these bags.

They fit great and supported. Darkglass will eventually have their bag shipping but it's taken from the specs of this one.

Thanks for that link! I actually got a Gator hard case on the way.
By the way, do you know if this amp can be operated without a speaker load?

Yes, you can run these amps without a speaker load.

Matt,
looking forward to your gig impressions. if you have any experience with the GK MB or MBF line of amps, I sure would appreciate a comparison!

Not to derail, but isn't that the same bag that folks use for Jules Amp Monique desktop/rackmount? it looks way familiar.

Hey Marc, the only micros I have tried are this one and my Orange Terror Bass 500. So far I've tried the Darkglass at a duo gig, so I didn't really get to open it up the way I'd like. It's very clean (without the drive channel of course), and the Orange is inherently gritty. In the next 3 days I'll be gigging with the new amp, so I'll be able to elaborate more later.

So I have 2 full band shows under my belt while using this amp. Last night I had a hard time dialing in the tone I want, but I think I can owe that to being too used to my Orange & Ampeg gear. I use the Orange Terror Bass the most, and it's a real screamer. The Darkglass has more of a "pillowy" tone (scooped I guess?), whereas the Terror Bass is inherently more aggressive. The Darkglass has thundery lows but is not boomy. The highs are nice & zingy but not obnoxious.
As good as it sounds, I found myself not experiencing the sonic bliss that I'm used to with my other amps until I did some serious tweaking to the high & low mids toward the end of the night. I finally dialed in the gnarlier tone that I prefer (all this without using the drive channel) and all was right with the world.

All night long I was getting compliments on my tone, even when I wasn't really feeling it onstage. I never thought the amp sucked, I just started thinking that maybe it just wasn't for me, until I got it tweaked of course. In any case, I still give this amp a huge thumbs up, even if I would've ended up returning it. The sound really is killer and the quality is top notch.

Tonight I'll get to hear it from out front. I co-host a blues jam here, so I'll get someone I trust to play through it so I can hear for myself. I'm really looking forward to doing more playing around with the overdrive section. I used it a little so far and it rips, but I've been mostly trying to get the clean sound dialed in.

Matt, tks for the update. I felt the same way about my MBF 800 when I first got it. took me about 3 or 4 gigs to finally dial in the tone I was looking for. I also found that it took some time for my ears to adjust to a new amp.

What usually drives me bonkers is spending time dialing in a great tone at home, only to have it sound like poop once I take it out to a gig. Damn those room acoustics! lol
