Hello, new member here, Geir Helgi is my name and I'm from Reykjavík, Iceland.
All-time PURE left-handed person!
I love the left side of life, it's hard at times, but definitely much more creative and smarter.

I've ordered a Talman bass in lefty but I also want to build my own short scale bass (after I played a Mustang bass reverse once I fell in love with it)

Now I'm searching for a neck, gonna start with that...
I prefer maple (fretboard also) because of that darned CITES thing :?

So where can I get a 30" bass neck?

Over & out and thanks a ton in advance
and KEEP ROCKIN' THAT LEFT HAND SIDE OF LIFE FOREVER.

-Geir Helgi

If you're willing to go cheap (and bit risky) and not all too concerned with the possibility of having to redraw neck holes, you could try buying a lefty SX Ursa Jr. bass. Double check the dimensions on your bass to see if it will fit first:

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!
Yeah I was just about to ask about the JR. version as well, because from the photos it looks like the body is much smaller, I got super confused when I was looking at them and compairing them to custom short-scale SX basses people have been making (over at talkbass) -mainly the pickup placement reaching into the alignment of the control plate...
I guess they're mixing regular sized bodies with the short scale necks or something? (or even that medium sized bodies they have?)

I also found a 30" unfinished neck at Eden Guitars & Parts, but it's sold out or something... Will check it later.

I bought a pearly white Yamaha BB300, it's being shipped, so far I've read great things about the BB300s and that the neck is actually quite good, so I might just keep it stock.

But I am very interested in Frankensteining a short scale by myself from various parts! :)

Good to have this base right now (no pun intended LOL)
