What the hell are they thinking? I got really excited to see maybe a lefty thunderbird, or EB-3, but then I see this. Can we nickname it disappointment? :?

Looks like a blend on MTD Kingston and Ibanez :(
Would be nice to see some SG, Tbirds and LP.

So I'm not the only one then.

I would have been happy with an SG Special bass.

Nevermind making the basses people want, that's too boring.

Gibson is undoubtedly the most clueless idiot in the biz. Do they honestly think they're gonna sell any of those, or are they looking to justify their belief that they should not offer lefties once those sales figures stumble in?

Somebody should fit Henry with a pair of cement shoes and drop him in the Cumberland river.

After clicking on the link, and reading the entire story, I can see why you're all upset. As a lefty guitarist, they offer the player all of the classic shapes and models... as a lefty bassist, their only offering has nothing to do with the classic shapes, and in a sense, is an after thought, as in, "let's offer up the easiest and most generic left handed bass we can cheaply make... I'm sure the lefties will be happy we're making a lefty bass at all, and will eat it up"! Yeah, right! :o :(

...and an ungodly amount of orange peel. Too sloppy for a $1k bass, IMO. Makes me wonder how many other corners were cut.

I bet they did that just so the sales are a total failure so they can use it as an excuse not to manufacture anymore basses in the future but only guitars.

Well, for whatever it's worth, Gibson is taking a beating on the guitar side, too.
