That is awesome! And, it's a uni-bass - it can be switched to a righty if the daughter ever loses interest... impressed with the work in the heel area... nice bass! |

Grumpy lefty says: Very cool project, but man, why would you build a full-scale bass with such short upper horn that creates such a long reach to the first position? That bass would be a chore to play even for an adult with normal-length arms; I can't imagine a 7-year old trying to learn on that bass. And why a single pickup so close to the bridge? That can't sound very good. |

All fair points. But dads can get a little carried away when a child shows interest in something he does. |

Rick is here in Pittsburgh and makes all kinds of "whip it together" glue 17 different kinds of wood together basses and guitars for people. None are ever painted so the time it takes to do it is drastically reduced and has made some wild units before. |
