Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie and wanted to say hello. I'm a lefty (of course) and have a couple of nice basses I enjoy. I'm orginally from Fort Worth but moved to Seattle about 10 years ago. I am lucky enough to get to play with some real nice, talented people here. We do mostly Petty, Beatles, Neil Young type stuff. Anyway, nice forum you got here and here's some pics of the basses:
This Hofner is in route to me and should be here Tuesday..

And my fretless '81 G&L fretless...really beautiful ebony board, sounds great..

Thanks,
Rick W

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the welcome. I guess I posted this in the wrong forum. I just saw the "Say Hello" thread in the other forum. I picked up the bass from Southpaw for $1899. I wish I would have caught the deal at Musicians Friend when they were blowing out the leftys for $1299 but they were all gone by the time I called. Oh well, can't win them all. They only made 30 of the lefty Clubs, so hopefully they will hold a reasonable resale value.
I guess I should say that I am really a guitar player (is the term guitarded??) Our bass player lives a long way from the rest of us and misses a lot of practices, so me and the other guitar player fill in for him when he's not there. I'm really enjoying playing the bass though. This is what I usually play, it's a real '52 (refin), not a reissue...

Hey Rodent,
I replied to your PM. Thanks for the welcome. We'll have to meet up, I live in Kirkland (right off Juanita Drive) too....

Welcome. You have great taste in guitars! That G&L fretless is nice - you don't see those too often.

Cool Rick. I got my Club at Music 123 for like $1100 last August thanks to the Southpaw Spotted forum here ha ha. I love mine and it's cool that they are so rare.

Sweet Mary Lou! :o A REAL '52 Tele?? That'll pay for the house.
I've got a '52 RI, and it easily my favorite guitar. Too bad I can't play like James Burton.

Hey pjmuck,
It's a great guitar! Being a refin I don't have to worry about playing it out. It's funny you should mention James Burton. The band I'm in does "Traveling Man" and I get to do the lead on that one. I saw him one year at the Dallas guitar show. He played in one of the side rooms and blew everyone away. The guy still has his chops!
