Here's Eastwood's latest reincarnation of the rare Charvel Surfcaster bass via their Custom Shop. If you're not familiar with their ambitious CS endeavors, they basically will make any instrument provided they can reach their pledge goal (kinda works like Kickstarter). At the moment they're not offering lefties, but based on past experience if they can fund the project with enough interest they'll make them. The pledge goal for the righties is only $1600 ad the final price is $799 including a hardshell case..

So who'd like to make this happen? :) I know I've always wanted one.

When the Surfcaster came out my buddy got the guitar and I really wanted a bass but they wouldn't make me a lefty.

I remember talking to the owner of Jerry's Lefty Guitars a few years ago, about this and that; and the subject of special orders from Eastwood came up. I think he said that they required a minimum order of 12; I know he's had custom guitars from them a few times. And that was before they started their Custom Shop. So, it shouldn't be too hard to get them, if you really want them. Surfcaster bass does look nice, but unfortunately there's no place in my herd for another semi-hollow body bass... :)

I'm a bit confused: it says that $200 is the pledge. Would we need to put down our $200 now in the hopes that he would make us a lefty?
