So, just because I'm too lazy to figure it out myself:

Did dean ever make any of their wilder shapes in lefty? In fact, did they even make many of the radical shapes for bass in the first place or were they just for guitar?

For some weird reason I like some of the old dean shapes, like their V and the "cadillac."

Nearly every bodyshape Dean has ever produced has been around as a bass as well, except maybe for the 'Baby' variant of their ML, Z and V models. I have never seen any of the import models other than some Dean Edges in a lefty version, unlike their guitars (the ML '79 reissue is available as a lefty, for example, but the bass version isn't). I am not sure about the USA models, but I recon the custom shop must have been able to build lefties so there may well be some rarebirds around that have been built to order. I have never come across any though.

Other than the Edge series and the acoustic Performer, the only other lefty Dean basses I've seen are a couple of 12 string Chaparelles (Arni's got one). The one Arni has I spotted a few years ago and I e-mailed him about it 'cause he was looking for one. A rare instance where I let one get away. ;)

The Chaparal is a Hamer, not a Dean ;)

Doh! What was I thinking?

For what it's worth, you don't see too many lefty Hamers either.
