I saw this story over at the Ibanez Collector's website: http://www.ibanezcollectors.com Before: Attachment: index.jpg [ 22.15 KiB | Viewed 6876 times ] After: Attachment: index.png [ 297.86 KiB | Viewed 6876 times ] Basically, this lefty bass had been on CL for a while - no takers. This guy bought the bass and cleaned it up... amazing results. pete |

Wow, was the original finish still underneath that poor flamejob? Looks amazing. I love that finish, I like it better than the more common sunburst. They're awesome basses, I love mine. |

Very cool how it looks great even with a clearly visible three piece body. |

Yeah, I thought the same thing... the body honestly looks like it could be as many as 4 or 5 pieces. |

That's what it looked like when it left the factory in 1979-1981 though Could be a lot worse: Ibanez also did some series of Roadsters with laminated mahogany bodies with a swirl paint to emulate the look of ash. They look awful in my opinion, whereas I love the dark transparent red/brown finish on the one above. Here's mine, in the more common Brown Sunburst finish. |

Any residual smoke damage from the flames? |
