Seems like I always see those Squier PJs on eBay. Have you searched there yet?

You know a few months ago that was the case now nothing but jazz. I really dig this color that or white which doesn't seem to ever have been made.

I had one that I sold on this board. Good bass once you changed the front pup. Anyhow, you might want to try Bill's Music House in Catonsville Maryland. They had that one and a black one last time I was there. Good luck with your search.

No dice. It figures, something you see all the time and cheap as hell and soon as you go to get one...all gone!

Just came back from a trip to Australia, and saw a Squire jazz bass at the Byron Bay Music Store for AUS $649! Even with the exchange rate, that's a lot-o bucks for a cheap bass...

G'day Fivebass, welcome to the wonderful world of outrageous import tariffs; aka, Oz!! We take it up the sphincter with import duties, which is why most of us now buy from eBay or other US sources, for amps, axes of all persuasion, strings, fx, etc etc etc n that's why there are almost no retailers left in Oz apart from a few big pox, sorry, box stores: they'e dropped like flies in the last 5-8 years by pricing themselves right outta the game, especially once the intermehnet was invented n eBay was founded n word got around amongst the musos. There was also a lifting of a tax free threshold for personal imports to A$1000 or there abouts a few years ago too, but in all fairness Byron Bay is a rich man's ganja farm paradise n mega outta the way n so they charge accordingly, in ways a city store never could but yeah, it's WAY spendy for a Squire even for there. Hope you had good weather, good beer, good wine, good food n good times while there!

Yes, Byron Bay is more like a resort town, with lots of retail shops etc. I had a great time at the Bluesfest, weather was perfect - no rain, and all was good for me except Aussie beer - I'm just too used to Pacific Northwest Pale Ales and IPA's. Aussie beers seem geared to Lager and Ales, which are not my favorite styles.... found a good Stout though, and at the airport, a Fat Yak Pale Ale from Melbourne that was acceptable... OK back to the thread! ;)
