Specifically off Aliexpress.com? Yeah I know you probably get what you pay for (or less) with these Chinese creations, but I have to admit there's some "intriguing" lefty stuff to be found there: Gibson EB2, 5 string 2 PUP Stingrays and Bongos, tons of Ricks (including 5 stringers and McCartney's custom paint job model), etc. Hey, some of these even say, "Made in USA" right on the headstock too! Anyway, I wouldn't hold out much hope tat these are great instruments, but maybe with some upgrades and mods you might have a decent bass?:

That's not a copy of McCartney's bass, it's a copy of mine.

I bought this one through AliExpress.

This is how it looked when it came out of the box.

There were some issues with it however:
Alignment of the tuners was a horror show.

(straight from the box)

It needed a thorough grounding and shielding job, the pickguard was very rough made and the neck pickup was placed a little bit at an angle.

I fixed all of the above issues, also made a new pickguard, and this is how it looks now.

All in all it ended up as a nice instrument, it just needed some refinement and care.
The neck is rather nice, the block inlays and binding are nicely done, the fretwork is good and level (it could be better if I did it myself, but for the time being it's good enough for me), there are no sharp fret ends.
The pickups and electronics are also not bad, it can sound as Jazz on steroids and as a Jazz as it should.

In potential it's a okay and nice bass, but it needs some work to make it a player.
I only advise you to buy one of these if you get some enjoyment from fiddling around with the hardware, if you buy it and hope to play with it straight out of the box it will be a disappointment.

I bought this one on Ali Express and it was practically un-playable. It had all the EB decals. The trust rod could not be adjusted and the only control that worked was the volume. It now serves as a very ornate doorstop.

I must admit, I have been sorely tempted by this:

When I wanted to adjust the truss rod on the above five string Jazz I also thought there was something wrong with it, after some better checking of the truss rod nut I discovered there was all sorts of muck inside it, once I removed that it was working okay.

It also had a small problem with the volume knob, it was working as a on/off knob, I found out that two of the pot terminals were bent and touching each other, bent them back and it worked like a charm.

I like that one too. And what's not to trust when the supplier is none other than Space Ace/master luthier, Ace Frehley!
