I put one of these in my 78 P-bass and another one in my Hot Rod, amazing difference! Finally a tone pot that isn't just high's roll off. Check it out.

That seems really interesting Chuck. Any chance you can do some sound clips of it?

How does it differ in tone from the regular P-Bass tone control?

I got the notched version and there are 16 separate settings ranging from full fat boom to bright zingy edge. It basically is 16 different capacitors with very accurate values over a two octave bandwidth.
