Cool! I've got the older humbucker version of the Hellcat. Curious how they differ in sound to the newer single coil ones. The thing I love about these is how versatile (and unique) they are. Run it through a bass amp and you can hang with the best of 'em in the low register. But play it with a pick through a good 'ole Fender Twin with a touch of vibrato and a wash of reverb and you're instantly transported to spaghetti western land. |

Wow, they're offering those lefty again?! I have been interested in those but when I had some disposable cash they had stopped making the lefthanded version. It looks much more traditional with the 3 singles in there (which is to say, awesome! ) Congrats on the new VI! |

I believe they made the pickup change in 2012, I too prefer the Jag pickups. This sounds like my 90s Fender VI. |

As a fellow "reverse stringer" one thing that can drive us nuts is tune-o-matic bridges, especially when they're "pre-angled" lefty like this- I've encountered a few basses that were just impossible to intonate strung backwards as a result. How did this one work out for you- did you have enough room to intonate properly? |

JUST enough room. That was my only concern when I ordered it, but I had a plan; my repair guy works for Collings Guitars and is VERY good,(he did the work on my Gretsch above, making it a double-cut, moving the switch, moving the pickguard) if it wouldn't intonate I was gonna have him move one of the bridge studs back a bit. |
