I've started a new project with a young lutherie in my local area recently.
Our current plans are to build a Vox Phantom body lefty of coarse. A fender jazz neck and a fender vintage Bridge. Electronics I am tossing between using a Gibson style mud bucket or two danelectro lipstick at the neck position and have the pickup wired on so no volume and tone controls will be needed.
Feed back please.

Cool project! I love the look of the old Vox basses. Phantom Guitarworks makes Vox copies. I own one of his Teardrop basses lefty, and it looks like he offers a lefty Phantom as well, though there's no pix on his site:

My immediate concern with your project would be the Fender Jazz neck. Those Vox basses were short scale, and I'd think a standard J neck would result in some serious neck dive. Something to consider.

I checked with the vox phantom specs and they did offer both short and long scale necks. I will be looking at light weight tuners to help with the neck dive.

I owned a Vox Mark IV for years, was definitely long-scale.
