HI Guys! I want know your opinions about the Cort B5 because I want buy it. I love bartolini pickups (and EMG's not so much). Thanks!! Attachment: artisan-b5.jpg [ 8.33 KiB | Viewed 6449 times ] |

They're really nice basses, and offer very good value for money. I've briefly had a B4, and it was one of the most comfortable basses to play I have ever owned. The wenge neck feels supersmooth and is fairly thin, but not Ibanez Soundgear thin. I sold it because I didn't like the tone, though. It lacked bottom end and character to my taste. But maybe Bartolini just isn't my thing (even though the MK1 aren't real Bartolini's but licensed by Bartolini and made by Cort). I believe Carmine has (or had?) a B4 too, maybe he can chime in as well. |

Yes I am also a fan of Cort's Artisan series. I'm amazed how many people don't realize that Cort is one of the most important guitar companies on the planet, responsible for building so many brands contracted to them by companies like Ibanez (amongst others). I've owned 3 different B4 Artisan basses: an older (pre- Bartolini) model with solid Wenge wood neck, Active pickups, Hi Mass bridge, excellent sounding electronics. I also had a couple newer model B4's with the Bartolini electronics (one is a fretless, which I still own- it is by far the best sounding, easiest playing fretless bass I've ever played). I had to get them both imported from Euro stores- Artisans are pretty much unavailable here stateside. Not sure why they don't import them in this market, as from an overall standpoint I prefer them to the similar Ibanez stuff coming out of Korea. IMO the Cort Artisan line is vastly underrated, a "Poor mans Warwick" of sorts, as Jeroen points out it may be a bit lacking in character, but overall I think the features and tone will exceed your expectations for the price. |

Just did some Googling on this bass... if you can get it for a fair price, I'd say go for it, especially after Jeroen's and Carmine's endorsement. What is the price you'd have to pay? |

Francisco, as mentioned in my previous post the Artisan series is not sold new in the USA. I had to buy mine from stores in Europe. |
