Those clubs are nice. Is that a CT or German?

It's German made. It's my understanding they only offered a small run of lefties in 2007, and it's estimated that less than 30 of these exist. Don't hold me to that though, just what I've heard. I don't believe Hofner has offered a left handed budget Club yet.

That's correct, only the violin bass is offered lefty in the budget models. I have one of those Clubs as well. I love it.

Here's mine.... from left to right:

1968 Hofner 500/1

Early 1970's Hofner 182
(rare factory original lefty, probably a special order; notice that Hofner didn't bother to make a left handed neck, just used a right handed one-- but they did at least put the logo on facing up)!

500/1 CT Series

the Club is also available as lefty in the cheapest line (it's 279,- euros) - only in sunburst

in the CT line you can have a lefty Violin Bass in black which is nice too :)

Do you mean the Club bass is available lefty in the Icon line? Got a pic?

Is there any difference besides cosmetics between the staple pickups and the bar pickups?

Post subject:  Re: Let's see your Hofner basses

A lot of people think the 'toaster' style pups were the best Hofner ever made. I know there was a lot of discussion on the old (now gone) Hofner forum about them possibly having more windings than the 'staple' versions.

My Ignition.

Made a new pickguard and control panel, rewired to volume-balance-tone.

It's cheap but nicely built, I preferred the sound of this one over the higher priced Contemporary.
