Hm, I've been considering one. What are your thoughts (good and bad) on this one?

Just received it yesterday afternoon so don't have a lot of time in on it yet but first impressions are very good. Neck is nice, close to my '68 EB-2. Whole bass is well-built and feels substantial, not flimsy. Factory roundwounds were too "roundwound-y" for me but a quick swap to GHS Precision Flatwounds did the trick. Good variety of tones. The string length behind the bridge allows for use of full-scale strings. One "quirk"; I always figured the pot on the bout was master tone, but master tone is the lower pot on the body, next to it is one of the volume pots, and the pot on the bout is the other volume. Weird. Finish is shiny and beautiful.
I dig it, rehearsal Thursday.

Did you get this one from Southpaw? I was just there three weeks ago, and agree with your impressions. The bass was ultimately not for me, but it was a good bass.

Nope, got it direct from Eastwood.

I LOVE short-scale hollowbodies, have a lot/too many of 'em. My best is my Gibson EB-2, to which all others are compared. The Eastwood compares quite well. Wish I had a gig tonight!

That appears to be a left handed body... Is that a left hand model that you've strung right handed? Looks like a nice bass!

A Santa Cruz guitar shop who knows I am a lefty called me recently to tell me they had one on consignement for $400.
I was tempted as I am a big fan of hollow-bodies-with-flats-played-with-a-pick but did not buy it.

For us lefties it is really a rare bird indeed. Congrat on your new bass!

If you're not getting it wanna post the details here so maybe another one of us can get it?

I love the look of these basses and love hollowbodies but am not a fan of shortscale basses.
