I just shot a lengthly email to the above. Has anyone seen the new epi thunderbird classic iv pro???? killer. Hell I get pissed everytime i go to my store and see gibson birds hanging on the wall collecting dust. Im tired of searching the world for a bass I want when I should be able to go there and just buy the thing. For most people its a matter of money, more than not to alot of us its a matter of finding what we want. I know there are better basses than a thunderbird, esp an epi, but its not the point! If I want it I should be able to spend the money and get it! Just saying.

You're exactly right. And firing off an email is the best thing to do. They have no idea we're out here, with money in our pockets, unless we make some noise.

Gaskell are supposedly coming out with a Thunderbird style (see here). Might be a suitable alternative.

$1400?! Yikes, that IS pricey. I got my Gaskell Explorer bass a few years ago for $695.

In Gibson's defense, they've done an excellent job of making more guitar models available left handed lately, so I don't know why they're reluctant to offer any bass models. (A lot of lefties over at the guitar forums are excited about the new lefty Firebirds coming out). I have to believe a lefty T-Bird bass, in particular, would sell fairly well.

I would love one of this as a lefty. I played a righty when I was in Memphis last year.
