For all of you Electric-Acoustic players, what strings do you recommend?
I'd like to swap out the strings on my Dean Exotica. I prefer lights on my
electric basses but this is my first time owning an Electric-Acoustic bass.

Your advice would be kindly appreciated. Thanks!

Pete

I like Nylon Taperwounds on an acoustic bass to sound close to an upright.

+1 on the Nylons. Great tubby upright-ish tone. You may have to widen your nut slots however.

I guess I should clarify that I'm not looking for an upright tone - I like the bright tones as I play almost all chords on the bass.

The strings on there now are "bronze" but they are turning black (along with my fingers). I went to Sam Ash and they only had
D'addario phosphor bronze strings. Anybody use these?

Thanks!
