I'm pissed. No, I have not been drinking. I have been to Gu^tar $inner and felt up a Jaco FCS Jazz. Now, I was aware of this model long ago but for various reasons did not pursue previous opportunities to get close. For instance, it's a Jaco bass and I've felt reluctant to embrace "signature" anything (yes, that's kinda petty), I knew it was fretless (which I'm not interested in), knew it wasn't available lefty ( ), overly ex$pen$ive, etc. But there I was in "the store" and there it was so I picked it up. No here's my question.... What in the _____ do I have to do to get a fretted version of THAT neck in a lefty. It doesn't have to be relic'd in the discoloration "patina" sense but I want that slippery smooth worn down feel. It feels like there's nothing on it. It doesn't have to be a Fender but has to be as good as. Just tell me what I need to do. Please help! I'm so pissed I'm not a righty and into Jaco right now.... |

Gradual sanding on a poly finished neck gets that for me. I've done it to every MIJ jazz I've owned. 400grit - 600grit - finish with 1200grit wet. |
