I'm putting together a 5-string Warmoth PJ Bass with bartolini pups and I came across a problem...
The "p" pup is marked with a "B" and "T" on the back of the split p (I'm assuming that "B" is for bass and "T" for treble). When installed, I can barely hear the g string because the blade on the treble side is too short. I then, reversed the split pup and put the "b" on the treble side and the "T" on the bass side and that fixed the problem. My string spacing is within their 66mm-72mm recommendations, so I'm not sure why I'm having this issue.
I guess my question is: Is this ok to do? Are both parts of the pup wound the same way? Is one pup louder than the other?

Does anyone have any experience with this pup?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
JC

Maybe 'b' is bottom and 't' is top. If that's the case, it sounds like you're fine.

jc575's assumption for the naming convention is correct. BMT would be bass middle treble.

I have no good advice to give you re your issue tho. Rod or someone more knowledgable than I could provide you with some decent guidance.

Don't know if this is a reason or not, but are the pickups made specifically for your left hand bass? I'm just thinking that perhaps because the pickups were installed correctly for a right hand bass, and now that you've switched them, they're in the right position to pick up the strings they were intended for...

I know those naming conventions are used on Bart preamps, but I'm not so sure they do that for their pickups.
