Do any of you have experience with these? I was thinking of treating myself to a 6 string and wanted to keep it fairly cheap. I think the Custom 6 is around the $600 mark. Also, does anyone know of any other good lefty sixer in this price range? Thanks.

The Stiletto Custom 6 is the one I'm referring to by the way.

I have a Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 and I'm fairly happy with it, although I don't give it much use these days (perhaps I should consider selling it). Great construction, decent electronics, nice tone overall.

this is the one I have, lefty of course:

Btw, at the price range the only other bass I can think of is the Ibanez SR506 which used to have a lefty model, however I can't seem to find one online anywhere.

I bought a discontinued Schecter Riot-6 about a year ago. As of right now the jack and/or wiring has gone bad and needs to be replaced/repaired. But it's a beautiful guitar and sounds good when it's working. I probably just got a lemon and/or they discontinued that model for a reason... don't know really. It looks like this but lefty... The bass player in my band plays a 4-string Schecter Stiletto Studio and it sounds great and he loves it.

Hey Matt,
I've had a couple of Schecters over the years. I think they are an unbelievable value for the money. I've actually purchased a couple of them just for specific recording projects - a Stilletto 5 string fretless and Stilletto 8 string - and then sold them afterwards. I also owned an Omen 4 as a "leave it in the rehearsal space" bass and it was great. A good set up and my favourite strings was all they needed. I was quite impressed with the preamp as well. You can't go wrong at this price with a Schecter in my opinion.
That's my two cents.
J

I'll concur, they are great value for the $$ basses. I still have my 8 string. I have a righty bud who uses a Stiletto 5 - both fretted and fretless. He gets some great tones out of them using a crappy no-name generic amp at the local blues jams he plays at.

Always wanted to buy one of these, but haven't seen one on eBay in about a year. Played a 5-string model at a local store and like the feel, look, and sound. The last few times they came up for auction I just didn't have the ready cash, and in hindsight, I should have hammered my card. I've heard great thinks about Schechter as well, and have been tempted to pick one up.

Working on that too. Spending some much needed time away from my comfort zone.

AustinLeftyBass, how do you describe your model t schecter ?

Always wanted one because of the Robert DeLeo affiliation, but despite the fact the he's using those basses live still today (sounds good in his hands), i've read some bad reviews about (most people rants about unfocused tone from the bass).

AFAIK early model t's came with other specs (more hi quality pups, different woods), but now it looks more like a budget bass to me.

I dig it, I wish I could use it with my main gig so I could play it even more but...
I love P/Js and this one is my fave P/J, has a reall punchy, cutting tone, mine's strung with Rotos.
