hey guys, just thought i'd give some feedback for those guys who always wonder if it's worth ordering basses from shops in the U.S. to Australia i ordered my new g&l tribute l2000 from Adirondack guitarson the 26th of july and recieved it yesterday: 10th august, so only 2 weeks wait roughly, the condition was great, it was well packaged and the setup was great. overall cost was roughly 780 AUD including delivery (about $150AUD postage)... i saw one in sydney recently on ebay that went for $1000 used so i'm stoked with the buy... they also have heaps of other basses that will end up costing much much less than what u can get them for over here. anyway, just thought i'd post this since i was paranoid about ordering from some company in the U.S. that could easily rip me off. cheers |

I also had a great experience dealing with Adirondack. I bought a lefty Dobro from them. It is great that they ship abroad. I don't feel the same way about Southpaw guitar. |

good to hear, i have bookmarked their site. I recently was going to buy a dano 58 reissue from the US with shipping it ended up being about $200 cheaper. that not enough saving for me, being a Dano, if it came busted i would cry. I figured to spend the extra and buy local in case of a defect, for peace of mind. but our dollar starting to fall now............. |

I've ordered from Adirondack in the past and always had a good experience. Dennis is one of our own. Did they remove the neck for you in transit, Backi? I know you guys get hammered in shipping costs if shipments exceed a certain size. |

I ship stuff to my friend in OZ, a box round 20 lbs & up to 1000 insured is around 155US (express international), long as the box does'nt excede 36 inches and length plus girth around has to be less than 79 total. So neck off would be a must to make it affordable. Granted it's still cheaper than him buying anything there. |
