Another very cool bass not available in left handed.... Music Man Big Al... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88JxJTz7 ... ure=digest and here's the spec page that tells us so... towards the bottom.... http://www.music-man.com/instruments/ba ... -al-5.html modeled after the Albert Lee guitar, which I've always liked the looks of. Ed also has a ten minute video playing a maple neck four string where he goes through all of the pickup combinations. It reminds me of the Carvin SB4000/5000 Sekou Bunch model, although I think MM Big Al has more tonal capabilities. Cool Bass though! |

Yes, I love the look of the Big Al too. Would love to have one. But first another elusive MM which isn't likely to come out anytime soon: a Stingray 5 HS... They still don't produce any lefties with more than one pickup (save for the Bongo). Hey Psycho Ward, some ambassador you are! |

Not a big fan of the Bongo shape, even though it has a good sound. |

B940012104 Rainbow guitars is here in Tucson, I never thought to see if they had a website. The "Big Al" really doesn't do anything for me and I have to admit that even though every Bongo I've heard sounds great, I just can't get past the look of them.....silly I know. |

Wow - what a great bass. The shape reminds me of the 1960s Japanese Teisco and Kawai models. I love those, but I realize that's a very personal thing. I'd also be curious to see if three pickups on a bass would be useful. Too bad they won't be making lefty models. MM doesn't have a bad track record for lefties so I'm a bit surprised. Maybe it's just too weird an instrument that they are afraid it won't sell to righties, let alone lefties. |

Oh I've been working hard on this, but so far nothing. I lobbied for over a year for a lefty Bongo, but I don't really think I had much to do with it. Sterling Ball is selling bbq grilles now so I'm working his sons. |
