So I've been really gassing for one of these for a while (well would LOVE to get a 535 but it's just a tad out of the budget for the forseeable future). Does anyone know if the lefties come in anything other than the burled Amber color? I'd really prefer the natural burl, but the few places online I see them available, the lefties are all amber. It just looks a little too orange for my taste. I can only find these: http://www.adirondackguitar.com/lefty/mtd/z5.htm http://www.theperfectbass.com/explore.cfm?STORE=Y&N=140&SN=265&CT=101&PG=101&W=STORE&P=N&S=1001081&U=1&SS=1&CR=Y&modify=0 (here the 5's are both fretless which I don't want..) and bass central also lists a single lefty one on this page: http://www.basscentral.com/2003/mtdzephyr.shtml Any other comments about these basses or their availability? |

if you look here, you can see all of the options (and pricing) available http://www.mtdbass.com/pages/MTD.html if I read this right, other colors are a $400 premium ... this might be why they're seldom seen outside of a custom order or used all the best, R |

I wish.. If I'm not mistaken that only applies to the 'real' MTDs (the handmade in US). I'm referring to the Korean made Kingston Z: http://www.mtdbass.com/pages/zephyr.html |

I've never seen them in a different finish either, but for the money they're really nice basses. BTW Stingray 5, welcome to the board. |

Thanks! cool forum for us southpaws. Oh well, I guess I could learn to love the orange.. The only challenge now is convincing my 'financial planner' that we need to make a $1000 investment. She seems to think getting some hardwood floors put in would be a smarter thing to do right now.. |
