Fender Japan have released a new version of the '75 Jazz Bass reissue (that has already been available to righties for a few years) for lefties, it appears to be a limited edition and it's not on the Fender Japan website but I coincidentally found them on the website of Japanese lefty store Taniguchi Gakki:

Available in Ocean Turqoise Metallic (the green one above, I LOVE that colour!), Black, Old Candy apple Red, Old Lake placid Blue and Vintage WHite. What makes them stand out from the regular '75 Jazz are their matching headstock and their alder body. They also come with rosewood boards only, and the chrome covers come stock.

That Ocean Torquise one is seriously tempting :o

Taniguchi Gakki won't ship outside Japan, but there are certain ways to obtain one anyhow :)

Ooohhh... That's nice! 8-)

Any info on prices? (Assuming we could, er, get one of course - which, er, we can't of course...) ;) ;)

Edit - just had a look at the website: Yen is at 94.77 to the $, 153 to the £ and 132 to the Euro... anyone got a calculator handy?

Are the black and white ones also matching headstock?

Yep. :)

They're all gorgeous looking basses. I can't decide which one I'd want, though I think I'd lean towards the Lake Placid or metallic Blues as well. Guitar Shogun might be able to get them, though with the US rate of conversion you're looking at about $1331.77 + about another $130 shipping (ouch).

They also have a Fiesta red '62RI J listed for 75,000yen with no matching headstock or bridge/PUP covers ($793.00 + $130 shipping) and an AJB Jazz (Active Jazz? It has a PJ PUP Combo) in gray that looks cool for 78,120 yen ($826.00 +$130 shipping).

The Lake Placid blue with an aftermarket mint or parchment colored guard would look incredible.

That's the Aerodyne Jazz Bass, with a carved and bound top and regular passive electronics. Kinda cool.
