Hey, man... I don't endorse them or anything, so I'm not responsible if you get another bad set!

Anyway, this is a great thread Andrew, and it is interesting to see what others are using and it makes me want to experiment more with strings, which is a big part of the sound and the playability of an axe.

Thumbslam and I have talked at length about this very thing...

One of the very first things we do when we get a bass, used or new, is rip the strings off it and put on a fresh set of our favorite brand... it's the only way to tell if the bass has the "it factor."

DR low-riders about 90% of the time. I threw a set of EB super slinkys on my main player jazz bass the other day just because I felt like a change would be nice. I found myself missing the feel of my low-riders right away, so those slinkys won't stay on past a couple of shows most likely.

I've had maybe one bad E string in the last few years of using DRs, but not nearly the varied quality issues I previously with using Rotos. I generally had to buy my rotos in batches of 4 packs at a time because of the likely dead E or A strings. Still really liked the tone of them though, especially for recording. DR comes close though, very close.
