Nice! They really care about customer feedback on their experience, it is commendable and good to share.
(They probably saw your online postings about your Coppollo, Rickenbacker desaster stories and realize that it would be bad for their business to screw up with you.)

Yes, that and a lot more.

They were really concerned about their error and more than made up for it.

I'm really happy right now and wouldn't hesitate to place a third order.

What did they do for you?

Honestly, I'd rather not get specific... Sorry, I guess that might be weird, but those guys were really cool with me and I don't want to be used as an example by someone who might try to work them.

If I can be vague... They gave me a new set of pickups, covered my electronics and made sure I didn't feel like I was getting screwed. It was a combination of things and I genuinely felt their concern to make it right.

I don't even think for a second that they wouldn't do the same for someone else.

Hope that's a good enough explanation.

Haha, yeah, that does sound weird! :)

As if someone hopes to get a faulty delivery, so they can 'work' Fender and might be getting a chance on the special-Fender-is-sorry-treatment? Your current (vague) answer is even more usable to 'work' Fender!

But hey, whatever. 8-) I'm in Europe, so all this ADE goodness is not for us.. :(

At the risk of speaking out of turn here, I'm gonna defend Addison and say he's definitely not 'working' Fender for anything. They are taking care of a customer that didn't get what they ordered as a matter of good business and good faith, so be careful to not accuse someone of dishonesty when you don't know the details, and especially when the details are none of yours, mine or anyone but Chris' damn business.
He's an honest dude and I've done some buying/trading with him so I'll vouch for this guy's rep any day of the week.

Thanks Matt.

Here's the deal... it's honestly nobody's business. I was trying to be nice with how I said it without being too weird, but apparently that's not good enough.

And secondly, I don't want someone who got the wrong string gauge to call Fender and say, "Well, you guys were willing to do this and that for Chris Addison, why won't you do MORE for me?"

It'll happen. You know how I know? It's happened to me before. ;)

This is a new thing for them, and they're still working out some kinks. With that said, they took care of me and I am happy. Even though my definition of happy and yours is probably different, my experience with these guys tells me that if they fuck up your order, they'll do the same for you. But... in all honesty, it doesn't take much to make me happy. In fact, I probably let them off easy, since the bass rules my face.

Anyway...

:)

There was absolutely none accusing intended! I even used cool smileys! :)
I'm sorry that you read it that way. I was just agreeing with it being weird not to tell about your great experience with Fender! :) (see, smiley)
The phrase "work Fender" was introduced by Addison, I just replied to that.

Sorry again! As I said in another topic, this forum feels great. No harm intended! :)

Just knowing that Fender took care of a customer with professionalism, and attention to detail, is all we need to know... and even though they don't give us nearly enough lefty bass options/selections/paint, we do know they stand behind their basses, and are always willing to make the customer happy, and that IS all we need to know.....

I don't see where J-meister accused Addison of working Fender. He was responding to Addison's concern that someone else might try to work Fender.

And I don't blame Addison for not wanting to disclose that he now has a free lifetime supply of Fender coffee. (oops!)

Second bass is here... I'm at work, so I haven't been able to spend a ton of time with it, but it seems absolutely amazing so far.

They definitely got the neck and body right this time...

In fact, everything seems right on.

8.25 lbs on our shipping scale... and that's an ASH body. SWEET!

It doesn't. That's a hang tag.
