I guess I'm not into colors as much as everyone else... I'm not OK with red and blue being the only new offerings we've had in 10 years.

I would like a couple of options that actually affect TONE.

How about an ash bodied J-bass with a 70's placed bridge pickup?

Or an ash bodied P-bass with a maple fingerboard?

At the very least, a maple fingerboard option would be nice with the standard alder body... I just don't really give a shit about red and blue. I'd like a couple of tonal options.

Either way, I'm mostly with Rod... I have not purchased a new Fender bass as long as I have been playing, and I won't until they offer something to me besides paint.

Ibanez offer virtually nothing left handed!

on one hand I would love to own a btb.
on the other hand, I played one of those lefty 605's they offer and quite frankly I would rather continue playing a righty slammer by hamer then cuff up the 800$ they wanted for it.
400$ would have been a stretch.

Agree with Rod 100%

Embrace the builders that appreciate/respect us lefties.
As well as part houses like Warmoth and USACG et al. that offer the same parts/prices left or right hand.
