That is the standard model. The only difference I think is that the upgraded version has Fishman pickups and preamp. After trying the Fishman pickups in 3 different basses I've decided it's not for me and the sound of the stock pickups is surprisingly good.
You are correct they only offer the golden brown for us lefties and ironically I like it way better than the other finishes, it gives it a vintage vibe with modern upgrades.
On the website they've said the body is okoume but this one looks just like ash as you've said. Maybe they run out of okoume and used ash for this one?
Ah and they don't have these lefty basses in stock. But if you buy one they will build one and have it shipped within 2 weeks!
