Just got this in the mail on friday. Its a bass made from warmoth body and neck, callaham hardware, gotoh tuners, Lollar pickups. Pickguardian did the pickguard, and the finish/relic was also done at warmoth. Bass plays really well, sounds great. Pickups have a lot of punch, and can also really capture that vintage P bass tone. Came with a Fender case. Really satisfied with the looks of this bass. Relic job is really well done. Anyone know where to get 1/4" Fender style knobs? The ones one there are clearly not Fender, nor look like Fender

To do list:
-Age some of the hardware
-Flip the nut, so E string is on bottom (yea I know it's screwed up, but it's the way I learned)
-Actual Fender knobs
-Play the piss out of it....

Awesome. I saw where you posted it on Talkbass, but haven't checked out the thread. How many douchebag haters have started relic bashing?

Seriously, that thing is gorgeous 8-)

Warmoth do a great job. I replaced a Fender Custom Shop Jazz neck that had worn out with a Warmoth and it was a 100% improvement, even on the Fender neck when it was new. I'd definitely consider having them build me the whole bass next time.

Wow, that bass is pretty damn sweet...and convincing too.

I had no idea Warmoth did distressed finishing work.

Ebay Online Store, Madison Music also offers "aged" distressed hardware for basses.

I got barrel knobs and an aged P bass bridge from them. Great seller and super fast shipping.

Just an FYI/side note, I stopped into Sam Ash yesterday to pick up my saxophone (Yes, I admit it, I'm taking up sax again after a 20 year hiatus), and they had two Fender Road Worn jazz basses side by side. Cosmetically, I was blown away. You'd swear they were old beat up instruments if not for the fact that they both had the exact same wear. I plugged one in and was pleasantly surprised. They are over-priced, IMO, so I'm guessing for roughly the same amount of money your Warmoth bass could be had and with sufficiently higher quality.

Jason makes my favorite P90 replacement. However, I can't really comment on his bass pups as I've never heard one. BUT, if they are 1/2 as good as his guitar pups, then they are wonderful things to have in your arsenal.

Did you add a new cigarette burn mark to the headstock? Seems to me it would be a health hazard to Warmoth employees if they added that option in-house.

Nothing like an instrument that encourages you to beat the $#!t out of it.

That is a pretty sweet bass. He had it up on Ebay several times, I almost pulled the trigger.

Nice.
