Well, here's the Fender mod shop. I checked out a Jazz bass. 2 new colors and higher prices. Lame.

WAY less options and higher prices.

No more vintage style basses or blocks on necks... less colors overall.

Way to go, Fender.

Ick. :|

I guess they weren't kidding when they said to hurry up and order your existing designs.

Well, at least the massive decrease in options are across the board and not exclusive to lefties.

There's a first for everything, I guess.

Yeah, really lame. I'm in the window-shopping market for a Strat, and with those prices I can get a Suhr, for example. . .

And on basses you can no longer select a Jazz-width neck on a P-Bass. . . Oh, well, at least we have Carvin to fill the sub-$2000, semi-custom niche.

For $1800 you can get yourself a well-appointed G&L MJ-4.

I don't even see an option for ash or a natural finish.

I think this was a good move on Fender's part.

...if their aim was to drive business to G&L. :P

I hope they at least up the QC. I'm going through yet another ADE debacle as we speak. Blah.

I've seen Fender reply to several posts on Instagram, Facebook, etc that they are heading toward international shipping with this. That being said, I haven't seen ONE positive reaction to this Mod Shop bullshit yet.

I only like that they added daphne blue to the list. And surf green. Added 2 nice things and killed 15 other options. Plus even more expensive.

Only positive reaction

I can order a passive jazz through this.

Kinda mad at G&L for taking away out passive jazz option.
