anyone got one of these?
ive been think about buying one and have heard some issues but more good things overall
i would really like to know how they would sound with rounds on them instead of flats with the P90 pickups.

I've got one, albeit an older (prototype?) long scale version. I do have some issues with QC on it, though it is a great unique sounding aggressive bass. The PUP covers were made of the cheapest flimsiest plastic and cracked on one of them. Eastwood sent me new PUPs/covers for free, but they're still the sane cheapo crap. One of the tuners was a completely different style than the other 3 (matte finish back vs. chrome on the rest).
I should of complained to Mike about it at the tine, but I didn't bother. Maybe the MIC QC has improved since, but I couldn't tell you. I try to avoid any of Eastwood's Chinese made stuff these days, as I've found the overall QC to be poor comparatively to their Korean plant.

Ive changed and am thinking of the classic 4 .
i have had email contact with Mike and posed the question about the QC issues.

I have a fairly new Hy Flyer(short scale), I dig it but am gonna sell it soon to afford a brand new bass from Eastwood(its a bit of a secret).
I've also got a Classic IV and an EEB-1, no QC issues.

will that be a bass for every day sale? I might hold off buying till i know what it is.

I also own the EEB-1, as well as an Eastwood Airline Map Bass and a Mandocaster. The Map is fantastic. Really well-made, high quality MIK instrument. I also like the EEB-1, though, again, some sloppy minor QC stuff like some sort of excess glue or gunk on the PUP. I wish they had done a more faithful copy of the Ampeg, but I fully understand the manufacturing limitations/cost in re-creating the scroll headstock. That one was MIC, I believe. The Mandocaster, again, a great sounding MIC instrument with a couple of issues. There was a chip in the nut that I did bring to Mike's attention, and I made the mistake of telling Mike he could simply send me a replacement nut rather than return the whole instrument for a new one. He never did, and I haven't bothered to bother him about it, so that one might be on me.

It's probably not a big deal, I just don't know if it's been posted anywhere.
The story goes like this:
Couple months ago Eastwood came out with a metallic red 32" scale Mosrite copy. Looked fantastic. On the Eastwood forum someone(maybe someone here) asked how to get a lefty one, Mike replied they should purchase a righty and that would start the ball rolling on a round of lefties to be built. I told him I was in but had always really wanted a metallic blue Mosrite bass. He told me if I put the money down he'd make some metallic blue ones too, it would take 2-3 months. So I did. That was about a month and a half ago.
So, there ya go, don't know if that's an official model or not but I doubt Mike would care if I let the cat out of the bag, if it's not already.

mike has told me they come out of china and Korea

I ended up ordering a classic 4 with a special postage price.
2 days from Canada to Australia is pretty good work from UPS
its still stuck up in sydney somewhere so i dont have it yet

Here is my new Eastwood Classic 4 bass
to be honest i was a bit shakey ordering one of these without playing it.
I heard all about the bridges, finish , knobs falling off etc
I cant fault it.
trust me, i looked harder than any other bass i have owned.
Usually if it feels right, i dont care about a little finish problem or crackle in the pots.
but none of that

the only problem i have is i need a bigger gig bag.
I have flats on a few other basses and atm i like the rounds on this.
I like to palm mute alot and that works well with rounds and i can get a more varied sounds that way when playing covers

I adjusted the neck pickup alittle higher and i havent checked the intonation yet.
pick guard looks better off i think.
even though it is short scale 30 1/2 " ? the overall hanging length is more a standard size bass, because of the body

solid feel. bridge firmly in place, eastwood stubbie holder as well.
and 2x those very short guitar cables that are never any good for anything (dont know why manufacturers still put these in)

Nice! If only Mike offered other finishes, particularly in white so I could have a poor man's White Falcon bass, I'd be all over one of these. I just ordered a Classic 12 from him, so we'll see.

yeah i cant see why different finishes would really matter with regards to left or right handed
I would of went cherry if i had the chance
Ive had a chance to check the intonation , most are nearly there but the G string which is alittle sharper.
i think i have enough adjustment there to fix it.
So really there is no intonation problems with the floating bridge that i can see.
hooked up with my VT pedal and this thing sounds better than my gibby SG
