It's about friggin' time. I have a 1991 CS Jazz and the neck died in 2001. Fender wouldn't sell me a new one so I had to buy a Warmoth. Didn't Leo Fender design his stuff to be modular so it would be easy to replace malfunctioning components? Oh well, 63 years is better than never

No lefties available, though... at all.

There aren't for guitars either... there's probably 6 or 7 posts on their Facebook page complaining about it.

I just saw this on Southpaw's Facebook page:

Quote:
Third quarter of this year we will be offering Genuine Lefty Fender Bodies and necks with finish for sale.

Sweet! I'm thinking of making a '62 style P in Oly white!

I inquired about this today at my local Fender dealer.

They suspect that lefty necks and bodies will only be available in whatever colors, woods and configurations that they will be available in as complete basses.

I believe they're right... But I hope for the best.

I never liked fender. I was always of the opinion that their guitars (never played a lefty fender bass)
cost about 5 times what they should.
they always sound like shit and when a fender user is confronted with that fact it's allways the same inane answer "that's the fender tone man" no, it's shit. it's not a "tone" thing, your guitar is an overpriced mediocre
instrument hyped up as if jimmy Hendrix set it up himself.

Well, tone and taste are subjective man. Some like it, some don't.

It's true that there are Fender tone-turds out there in the wild. But you can say the same thing about any mass produced instrument. However, when a gem falls into your hands, you'll wake up and say "A-HA, that's what all the fuss is about!".

.... just my 2 centavos ....

Given those prices, I'm not exactly sure why anyone is going to jump for these if they're into parts building.
I'd still much rather use a service like Warmoth or B.Hefner to get exactly what I want, I really don't care if my instrument isn't a Fender these days.
