Yes, Bas Wittenberg has built some amazing stuff over the years! Most were experiments, with very unusual materials, just to prove a point ("Plastic and multiplex can sound great", "Frets don't need to be straight if you only have one string per neck"). I know a guy who has actually owned three of them (the "Plywood babe" he had painted metallic purple, the "Punk rock classic" that has mostly just hung there to adorn his wall, and the "Little zebra" 2-string that he ended up giving away to a talented young bass player who came by his place to buy another of his basses). This guy has an amazing taste in basses, so I have absolutely no clue what drew him to actually buy those three
