got it yesterday - what an anwesome Bass - it's very very light but highly resonant - endless sustain - it's a Team Built Closet Classic 62' P in Shoreline Gold

I've waited 11 month - due some problems with the german Fender CS distribution (some idiots seem to work there.....not my dealer) - the Bass itself needed 9 month

It's actually very hard to catch the colour and the colour of the tortoise.... ;)

That - is -simply - stunning.

I almost think a black guard would look better though. Now where's that hide behind the wall emoticon when you need it? ;)

I think that is the sexiest P bass I have ever seen. That's shoreline gold? Looks more like silver. I LOVE it! Is the fingerboard ebony or rosewood? Looks like madagascar ebony.

OH.

EM.

GEE.

WOW!!!!

Eventually, I will be doing this... my next "big" purchase will either be another Lakland 55-94 or a CS P-Bass... or a Sadowsky... or...

Love, love, LOVE the color too... that's more how shoreline gold looks in nitro. In poly, it looks a lot more like a traditional gold color. Black guard would look sick with a maple board, but nothing goes better with a rosewood board than tort, IMO.

Fender has some DARK ASS rosewood laying around... the fingerboard on my Custom Shop Jazz looks exactly like that... and I also got pretty lucky with the Hot Rod P I just bought too... it's just as dark. You can really only see any brown in the wood in incredibly bright light. Love it.

I'll have pics of the new Hot Rod soon too. 8-)

Thanks guys.

Yes - it has a Rosewood fingerboard - you can see some figure in it - but that depends (like the colour) on the lightning ;)

The colour incredibly changes from "old" gold to a touch of silver and sth. in between .... just played my first gig with it - this Bass really has what I have imagined it should have - so I'm really happy :)

Jules,
that there is one awesome bass. Fender Custom Shop has really raised the bar in terms of quallity of workmanship in the last few years. And they just seem to keep getting better at it.

Congrats on a killer bass!

The price was 2990,- Euros - that's pretty the "standart" for Team Builts in germany.... the price includes shipping, customs and taxes and also depends on the change between Euro and Dollar....that change for example was much better last year when I've ordered the Bass than it is now - so I guess the Bass now would have been more expensive.
