Here's my bass. 2001 LH MIM Fender Jazz, Midnight Wine. I love the sound (paired with a rumble 60 as I learn how to play) and the color looks great.

Purchased used for $320 at Sam Ash in North Carolina.

(Picture is from my phone, so the contrast isn't that great.)

ps. That's my wife's hammered dulcimer under the cover behind it.

I never really liked those Rics with the black hardware, except for the all-black and all-white ones. But I love the red. Would have looked awesome with chrome hardware I'm sure! :)

Now THAT is stunning.

FYI, I have a friend who's also a lefty bassist and he plays a natural finish Rick with black hardware/pickguard. (Anyone familiar with those Comcast commercials featuring the band, Early Edison? You'll see Tom the bassist and his lefty natural Rick; Yeah, I know, I hate the jingles too but they're good friends and doing well. Don't tell them I said that, LOL). I think the black hardware on natural looks awesome too.

I'm a fan of both chrome and black hardware but it really depends on what bass it is, like black looks good on certain Rics and chrome looks good on others, you know? but the Ibanez SR300L I mentioned earlier in my forum (which i am getting) comes with black chrome and that looks nice with the black paintjob

You're right, black hardware matches well with mapleglo (never say 'natural' to a true Rickenbacker enthousiast ;) ) very well too. Forgot about that one :) . Still I prefer 'em like mine:

BTW, sorry for the hijack, Jeff

Good point, hah! Though Rick's certainly had some "questionable" color naming over the years, i.e. "Montezuma brown". (As much as I like that color I can't help thinking of the classic warning, "Don't drink the water in Mexico!").

I like the mapleglo with black trim too. I owned one a couple years back but sold it when I got my jetglo 4003.

Well, it's about damn time that Ric started making the 4003 completely lefthanded that has always been a major pet peeve of mine.

That Mapleglo looks great.

No problem.

Being a Geddy Lee fan, I love the Rickenbackers as well. When I was growing up, a lefty 400x frequently appeared at the top of my Christmas list.

What a bummer that the Geddy Lee Jazz isn't made left handed. (Maybe that would just be wrong, since Ged isn't lefty.) My bro said "you could always get one from the custom shop." "Yeah, when I hit the lottery," I replied.

Love my Jazz. Learned the riff to "Pretty Woman" last week. Unfortunately, it's developed a funky vibration on the third string. I think I'm going to get a BA II bridge and see that fixes it. Replacing the strings didn't help.

Is it buzzing against the fretboard?

Don't think so. Seems to have plenty of clearance.

I think it's in the bridge. If i press the string in the bridge, it goes away.
