How does it play and sound? I like its simplicity, and it looks like a real player. I'm interested in that pickup configuration in a non-Fender bass. Does it give you J and P Bass tones? |

Well at the moment I'm playing through a PA system via a DI box but it does have that true P bass sound deep and strong and that is with both sets of pickups on so i'm liking this a lot. I compared it with my 62 mij P reissue and with both tones turned full bass and the yamaha only on the P pickups I would have to say the yamaha is a little more bright and the volume just slightly lower but still a great sound and my 62 reissue also has flatwounds on it. I think I'll be keeping this yamaha for a long time. |

Congrats, so many people have great things to say about the Yamaha basses. At home we have Yamaha drums (my son), and Yamaha flute and keyboard (my daughter) but no Yamaha bass for Dad. |
