Very nice! I'm a fan of Aero pickups - they're installed in my Custom bass (humbuckers, as seen in my avatar), and also have a P/J set in an old SR800... Became good friends with Larry Pollock, the owner/winder of Aero's.. OK, enough hijacking, back to the "ooh-ing and ahh-ing" over your killer bass! |

Man, Larry is super cool. We had a great conversation on everything from music to politics when I talked to him. And yes Paulo this is the one that was on eBay last week. Looking forward to your pix! |

Found Larry way back in 2002, when I was looking for pickups to replace the EMG's in my bass. Kept seeing Aero pop up on high-end basses, so I contacted him through email ( he was living in San Diego at the time), and eventually had him build me the pickup system I have now, which consists of the humbuckers (with specially milled covers),pickups poles made to sit perfectly under my unusual spacing (B-19-E-18-A-18-D-17-G), Vol-Vol-Tone, and a 4-way switch. Had to have the pickup slots on the bass routed out to accept the Aero's, so in the end, it was an expensive upgrade but worth it. He got tired of San Diego and encroaching urban sprawl, so he contacted me, flew over to Oahu. We drove around for a few days to check out properties and prices, then flew to the Big Island, stayed with friends of mine, and looked at property there... He eventually bought 22 acres outside, and above Hilo. I've been to his property, and seen the custom barn he built to house his winding machinery. It's a beautiful piece of land! Yes, he's very intelligent, and a bit of a character! Haven't talked to him in awhile, so now I'll have an excuse to say hi! OK, back to the thread again..... |

Glad you got it and love it. I was tempted to pick the bass up for that price... crazy good deal!!!!! About the Aero... I've been debating putting one in my 77 Musicmaster... sounds like a no-brainer... and I should just do it! I assume this is the one? https://reverb.com/item/3156240-aero-musicmaster-pickup |
