As many of you know, Spector will not produce left handed basses made in USA (NY). The Czech and Korean models cover the lefty area. I have tried on many occasions….

I waited 11 months for this beast (2nd to longest wait for my Spector's ever and I have owned well over 20+) and well worth the wait. Something happened in this process and the order was delayed. They had my old specs of single coils that were changed later for 40DC's. I am glad they got the old specs. This is one bad ass EURO5LX.

My specs:
Gun Metal Grey (gloss)
Ebony fingerboard
EMG J5 Singles (active)
EMG BQC Pre wired 18v
HipShot UltraLite Tuners
-battery compartments routed on the back
Webster thin neck profile

This is the only lefty made with this pickup layout… and the lightest 5 string Spector I own @ 9lbs and some change and perfect balance. My Spector arsenal is complete. 8-)

Awesome! I love the finish too. Solid colours wouldn't be my first choice on such beautiful and elegant instruments and I know Spector often uses very pretty maple on these, but this finish worked out great.

now that's METAL. I love it.
especially the different looking headstock & the fact that is has 3 string on top and 2 on the bottom.
I never really got why they do it the other way around, it's fugly to say the least.

Thanks you guys….. Well, as far as the comment on 3 top / 2 bottom vs 2 top / 3 bottom, there are valid reasons for doing both. I prefer 3 top on a 35" scale but if it were a 34, I might go 2 top to lengthen the B string a little. Depends on the instrument. Some also do 2 top to add Drop tuners for alternate tuning. Just depends on what your doing. All mine are 3 top as I prefer and used to it. Only Drop tuning I do is by hand or a different bass live. Mostly 1 full and 1 1/2 step low and occasional drop D. Spector's rule for drop tuning in fact they almost handle drop better tonally.

Lot's of very nice basses out there and some here from board members. You find your comfort level and tone your looking for and stick with it. Switching basses all the time never lets you get completely comfortable with an instrument. I got an unlined fretless Spector EURO5 what I am already accustomed to for years and it was like butter adapting….. there ya go…….

:o

DAMN!

KILLER bass... love the gun-metal gray and ebony combo. And the JJ setup is right up my alley.

If they had wider spacing... even if it was 18... I'd definitely want to pick up another one.

Fugly?

I dunno... I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

Jim, congrats! That's one fantastic looking bass and the pickup layout tells me it must be a punchy one.
