Well, I got this here Club that's been on eBay for ages. Was able to talk the guy down reasonably too.

Cleaned it up, tweaked neck & bridge, threw some fresh LaBellas on it and replaced the teacups. Rocks. I missed having one of these. :ugeek:

Man, I've been eyeing this bass for a long time and feared that it may have neck problems. Glad to hear that it's working well for you after some minor adjustments. I'm assuming you just had to adjust the bridge height and tweak the truss rod, right? May I ask what you paid for it?

Thanks - Flav

Hey Flav, I think we were myspace buds a few years back. I remember the name. What made you think the neck had issues? Just curious. I got the guy down to 1400 shipped. The bass is wonderful. Some finish cracking here & there which is hard to see. Serial puts it at a 2006. And yes Andrew, gitcha one. :geek:

Hey Matt,
Yeah, I remember you now. Man, we lefties are such a small community. I use to covet your bass collection if my memory serves me right.

If it has no issues, you got it for a good price. I have a 67 Hofner 500/1 and I’ve learned that the neck set is usually the 1st and only thing to go out with their vintage basses. When they start to go, the cheap fix is to shave down the height of the bridge to offset the effects of the action going up; that’s what someone decided to do to mine at some point in it’s life. Although, I’m finally getting the neck reset in December. I can’t wait!

That being said, I once asked your seller to provide additional pics of the profile, specifically between the bridge and neck. He failed to respond, so and I just figured the seller was possibly trying to hide this issue. On top of that, I was also skeptical with why it sat for so long time at that price.

Yep I've heard that same thing about the vintage ones as well. But yeah the neck joint looks great, no issues. I examined this thing like crazy when it arrived. The only real issue was the rotten set of stock strings, which I have never had luck with anyhow. Post a pic or two of your Club if you can. And may I ask what a neck reset goes for? Just curious.

Yeah, I have LaBellas on mine and I really like them too. I Actually don't have a Club, I have the standard Beatle bass 500/1. The overall repair will cost me $550, but that's including a refret, new bridge and nut. A really good deal in my book. Yeah, I will be sure to post some pics soon.

D'oh, that's right, you specified the Beatle bass above. Well cool, looking forward to seeing yours man.
