Just added the 1994 Red Fender Am Std Precision to my collection (exactly the same as Funky42). I bought it from fellow board member Cavernplayer (thank you again!). It sounds fantastic. I had been longing for a P bass for years. I have a parchment pickguard on order for it.
From left to right: Goldtone Paul Beard Dobro (not a bass but I love this thing), 1994 Fender Am Std P-bass , 2004 EBMM previously owned by Andrew and bbl (the Ice Queen), FrankenFender Fretless with an old Squier body bought from Gravesbass and a MIJ 62' reissue neck. It has Bart pickups and it strung with Nylon taperwounds for an upright sound. 2000 Fender Am Deluxe Jazz Bass now passive with Lindy Frailins and Badass III bridge (this bass sounds greasy!).
Nothing exceptional but I like the classic instruments conceived by a certain Leo Fender.
), Bart pickups, bridge made up with two different bridges. Just bought some Nylon Taperwound strings. It sounds really great. Especially with the Bartolinis. I don't like them on a fretted bass because of the lack of bite around the 2.5 Hz frequencies but for fretless, there is nothing better in my opinion.
