Hey gang, Here is my modded Gibson SG bass, plus my current rig and pedalboard! The SG has a Babicz bridge, Dimarzio Model One neck pup, Curt Novak bridge pup, and Labella tapes (I'm really leaning into that dark muddy tone). The amp is an Ampeg Portaflex PF50T powering a PF115. The pedals (not in order): Boss tuner, Aguilar compressor, MXR analog delay, unknown chorus, Russian Muff, Aguilar distortion, Boss OC-2 octave, EHX monosynth, Mu-tron III |

Nice stuff! I recently put in the Curtis Novak EB-BSX Neck and the Curtis Novak EB-Bridge cause I wasn't happy with the bass and was considering selling it. Instead I went the other way and invested in these better pups and so far I like! |

That is an interesting setup. I have the same Ampeg rig, which I use at home, and love!!! It's not powerful enough to overcome my drummer tho How do the tapewounds react to the Mutron? |

It's not powerful enough to overcome my drummer tho How do the tapewounds react to the Mutron? That's weird because my rig is more than loud enough for our rehearsals including our drummer. The Mutron definitely reacts differently to the Gibson than to my other basses, I have to turn up the gain a bit to get the same response out of it or switch to the low range. It's nothing too drastic though. For this project I have the gain all the way up, peak all the way down and the mode set to high-pass to get a sort of a bass-cut megaphone sound. For such an old pedal it's surprisingly versatile. |
