I thought you guys like to see this one, I sent the body for a paint job at GPG and upgraded the pickups with a set of Nordstrand Zen Blades. |

That's pretty awesome. I remember how disappointed I was with the thin veneer of the original finish on these basses. This is definitely an upgrade! |

Awesome finish, man! What do you know about those pickups? They have 4 conductors, so I suppose they must be humbuckers of a sort, but I am curious as to how they are wound. The website says, "classic sidewinder-style," but I have never heard of that before. https://nordstrandaudio.com/collections/4-string-soapbar-bass-pickups/products/zen-blade-4 |

I know nothing much about these, got the set used on TB but they do sound great! |

That is one Bitchin' lookin' paint job! And I like that you weren't concerned about painting an expensive bass to your liking, and not worrying about potential re-sale value... in fact, you most likely increased it! |

I like this bass more and more every time I look at it. I've never touched a Zon. How does it sound and feel? |

It sounded fine with the original pickups but I wanted to try the Nordies, no regret! The overall feel and sound of this bass is great, I still have the original 3 band preamp installed and it does the job. I was able to purchase this bass at a great price (no low ball on my end, I paid what the seller asked for), that's why I decided to give it a refin. The veneer made it look horrible like my grandma's furniture. I believe this was the only one Sonus Legacy sold by Adirondack Guitars as the wood grain matched 100% before the refin. |
