Just installed the new pickguard that I got from a fellow forum member here - thanks Joe! - on my Hot Rod P. I think it looks swell. Also, I've loaded it with the new EMG (passive) Geezer Butler Signature P/U's. Oh... my... GOD! These are the pickups this bass was begging for. So much better balanced between the P & J. Uncommonly warm and vintage sounding for an EMG product. AND, they are really quiet even when using only or mostly the J P/U. When using the P by itself you get a great 60's tone. I may be just imagining it but I
think the tone knob has more range and actually has a more fine/useable adjustment. I can't recommend them highly enough. (If you're not a vintage-only-phile that is.)
