Just added the 1994 Red Fender Am Std Precision to my collection (exactly the same as Funky42). I bought it from fellow board member Cavernplayer (thank you again!). It sounds fantastic. I had been longing for a P bass for years. I have a parchment pickguard on order for it.

From left to right: Goldtone Paul Beard Dobro (not a bass but I love this thing), 1994 Fender Am Std P-bass , 2004 EBMM previously owned by Andrew and bbl (the Ice Queen), FrankenFender Fretless with an old Squier body bought from Gravesbass and a MIJ 62' reissue neck. It has Bart pickups and it strung with Nylon taperwounds for an upright sound. 2000 Fender Am Deluxe Jazz Bass now passive with Lindy Frailins and Badass III bridge (this bass sounds greasy!).

Nothing exceptional but I like the classic instruments conceived by a certain Leo Fender.

Nice collection, that P-Bass will look great with a parchment guard.

I've had the good fortune to play a Paul Beard 'Jerry Douglas Signature' model (righty) squareneck a couple of times, and man! that thing is pure Adirondack Mountaintop bliss. Made me want to get out there and hook up a corn squezzin' still (as if I needed more motivation) LOL. Fabulous instrument.

nice collection btw!

I'd be interested in hearing what the passive-ized Jazz sounds like.

Hey Frenchy-Lefty, you still have "barney"? Nice.... I need to pay you a visit sometime soon.

Bjito and Amimbari, respectively Merci! and Thanks! Everything grows in California...

Gravesbass,

Yes I still have Barney! I did what I had planned to do with it. Using only spare parts I had from other project. MIJ neck that I de-fretted in my kitchen (a la Jaco :) ), Bart pickups, bridge made up with two different bridges. Just bought some Nylon Taperwound strings. It sounds really great. Especially with the Bartolinis. I don't like them on a fretted bass because of the lack of bite around the 2.5 Hz frequencies but for fretless, there is nothing better in my opinion.
I sold the Stingray to another board member. I really loved it but it did not fit my musical style (my ideal bass tone is along the lines of the band Cake or Rocco Prestia) This P-bass sounds incredible with the Fender 62' pickups.

P.S I really like your bass sound on this Sol Drop demo of yours (the Spector?) . I heard the show at the Avalon was great (my boss was there).

Thank a lot, man. Yup, Spectors are always used for my recordings. That was a one shot recording too. Bass mix was really good. The Avalon Ballroom gig was the first for Sol Drop. I am new to that band so I gotta push em to move a little more. It's mainstream with an edge and the edge is getting more heavy
