This righty bass is the first production 4-string unit of my M-Series line.
This bass has all of the snarly growl you'd expect from a Mahogany body - but thanks the the ultra light weight body core and single-coil pickup set, there's also a high end brilliance that is more characteristically heard on an Alder or Swamp Ash bodied bass
Features:-Mahogany / Pau Ferro neck, 1-1/2" nut, zero-fret, satin finish
- AAAA Spalted Koa top on ultra light weight Mahogany body
- Nordstrand Big Singles pickups
- Nordstrand 2-band preamp configured Vol (pull preamp bypass) + Blend + Passive tone (always available) + Active Bass/Treble stack
- .75" spaced Hipshot Type A alum core bridge
- Hipshot ultralight tuners
- Copper foil shielding in pickup and control cavities
- Dunlop strap locks
- Black hardware
Fully loaded weight is an amazingly light 7.5 pounds
Regular price for this bass with its upgraded woods would be $2895. Special LeftyBassist pricing on this unit is $2495, and includes a case and ground shipping within the US continental 48.
Sourcing instrument grade ultra light weight Mahogany like I used on this body has proven difficult. I don't believe I'll be able to offer this wood upgrade option as a regular feature
Here's a close-up of the body for your viewing pleasure
I post this bass here in recognition that several of the forum members are lefty but play righty. This bass can easily be built lefty, and it gives some reference to what my first lefty M-Series 4 will look like
all the best,
R
