There's a great little venue here on Oahu, called Ward's Rafters, which is actually the entire top floor of a large old house in a sleepy old neighborhood on the East side of world famous Diamond Head Crater. Named after the family who owns the house, every Friday, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon, they feature an eclectic music/arts mix of Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Middle Eastern, Comedy, Belly Dancing... you get the idea!

Last July, one of the bands I play in, called Rick Smith and the Trailer Park Romeos, played a gig there, and I recorded it on my First-Gen Zoom Q3. I was playing my Stagg EUB through my Walter Woods Stereo head, and my Accugroove Tri-112 cab, which is on a counter behind the cane-partition. Although it doesn't sound like a true upright, it has a nice, warm sound... and Rick has that old slide guitar sound down! This is one of the songs from our two-hour show...

Cool. Blues in paradise. It doesn't get much better than that. Excellent!
