Sort of hate to let this one go, but I've never played it. 2005 Limited Edition Bongo HH in ButterCream, mint condition. 1300.00 shipping included in the lower 48.

WANT!!

I need to not buy this.

But, I mean, I've never had a Stingray, and every bass player should have a Stingray-type bass, right?

I remember like 20 years ago when I first saw a Bongo. I thought it was the coolest looking bass I had ever seen and I really wanted one. I still think they look awesome. I get that some hate the way they look and make fun of them and call them a toilet seat, and that's all good. "If you can't laugh at yourself..." right?

Anyway ... are the pickups 4-conductor?

Does it have a case?

I think I should buy this...

I don't know what four conductor pickups are. But, I have a StingRay for sale too.

I certainly can't think of a basis on which to discourage you :)

That's the best Bongo color combo I've seen, and the HH is gonna be good for a lot of amazing tones.

Love that Buttercream! If you haven’t played a Bongo, I highly recommend it! I have had my single H Bongo5 for 10 years now and it’s a keeper. And like David Lee Roth said:

“You can’t get this stuff no more”

I have to say that I do prefer the Neptune Blue with the Birdseye Maple fretboard, but there is something about this finish that makes me so drawn to it. And, as weird as this is for me to say, I think Rosewood actually looks nicer with this finish than Maple would.

I'd much rather have this Bongo than any Stingray.

4-conductor pickups are humbuckers that have 4 wires; two for each coil. This allows the pickup to be wired in a variety of configurations: coils in series (one coil after the other. This is "normal" humbucker wiring), coils in parallel (coils wired "next to" each other), or one coil at a time, which is what I would like to do, being a jazz/Rick guy.

Man, this thing is going to haunt me in my sleep.

Well, it is for sale. I don't want to take it apart to find out the wiring, I'm afraid I'd scratch it. Maybe someone here would know. It does come with the original case.

Yeah, I wouldn't ask you to do anything invasive. I wouldn't, if I was in your place. I just thought, like you mentioned, that someone might know off-hand. But, the more I think about it, the more I guess it really doesn't matter because I don't think I would want to modify the wiring anyway. And I absolutely would not, under any circumstances drill any holes to add any switches or buttons.

Hey, all. This one is with me now, but I am going to leave the listing up in case anyone is interested.

I like this bass well enough, but I realized the reason why I can't stop tweaking knobs everywhere is because I was trying to make it sound like a jazz bass, which it isn't. I got kind of close - as close as I think it can get, but it isn't where I want it to be.

I will say it has a nicer, more rich low-end, but it doesn't have that open, throaty jazz bass tone which I now realize I don't seem to be able to live without.

Don't worry, I am saving up for it now. I love Bongos, already have two and this would make a great addition. Just got finish saving up for it and not telling the wife I am buying it

How will you hide/explain the extra Bongo? You have two - maybe a Bongo Baby?

Probably gonna have it sent to my drummers house and keep it there while I figure out a way to explain it away lol

Yeah, but I kind of put it on hold for another forum member. I can check to see if he is still interested.

Let me see if I can find some pictures.

Also, I am out of town until the 22nd.

ok, in my travels yesterday, I was able to check out a right handed HH Bongo5.
I don't think it is going to be for me. Please do not make any special efforts to post photos on my account.
Thanks though.
