Well, my first sale was quite quick and easy, so I guess I'll push my luck with another!

I have a beautiful 4001v63 that I might as well try to unload. It's a great bass, I just don't need two Ricks and it's not seeing much playing time.

It is 100% stock and unmodified, except for strings and a setup, of course. Right now, it's wearing Rotosound Swing 45s. I will also include a set of used flats.

It is in very near perfect condition. The only imperfections are a nick in the pickup cover, shown in the pictures, and a ding in the top wing that is so slight that even though I was told about it before I purchased it, I didn't actually notice it until well after.

It comes with a silver Rickenbacker hard case, also in great shape. It still even smells new

Let's say $2600. If you are outside the 48, let me know and I will get you a shipping quote and split the cost with you evenly.

Feel free to ask any questions or ask for more pictures, even if you aren't in the market! If not indicated by an update below, it's still available!

 I'm glad you still think so! (You posted the first response in the original thread, and said the same thing!)

I completely agree! FireGlo was always my favorite, but after seeing this in person, the grains on it made me a MapleGlo guy.

I will be out of the country February 14-28. I will respond to any inquiries upon my return.

Thanks!

I just put a new wiring harness in this gorgeous specimen with 60s-70s spec pots, the push/pull cap option and a stereo jack. Because of the tonal result, this has become my favorite bass!

Now I am glad it didn't sell!

That being the case, I will be hanging onto it for the foreseeable future, so we can close the thread.

I would like to thank everyone for not buying this bass!

Cool! Do you have a picture handy?

Oh, and out of curiosity, do you have it in the register?

I haven't visited Ricsource or the register in many many years. IIRC I did register it, but that would've been a LOOOOONG time ago. I bought it new from Dave's Guitars in WI in the early days of interwebs shopping.

Here's a link to the slideshow. http://s32.photobucket.com/user/mrberger/slideshow/4001V63

I gotta tell ya, I switched up my rig in the last few weeks. I'm now running a GK MB Fusion 800 paired with a Greenboy Fearless F115. And it does the Ric a whole lot of justice, which actually surprised the heck out of me given that prior to this I had zero experience with GK, except for a gig or two back in the early/mid 90's with a loaner RB-something-or-another. It comes darn close to edging out the Fender SB300/NEO610 rig. Not as much heft as a big-iron all-tube head delivers of course, but it's surprisingly close.

That is a sweet Rick, man!

I run the neck pickup into a Line 6 Bass Pod XT using the Ampeg SVT model, and the bridge pickup into a Line 6 Pod X3 using the Marshall Plexi Jump Lead model.

The result is an absolutely heavenly gurgley gluggy chuggy belchy grind.
