Bad timing to be selling basses, but here it goes. . .

Many of you are familiar with this bass. It was for sale for quite awhile from a forum member. I worked out a trade deal with him and it's been mine. It's as good as it gets but, as you may have read in other of my threads, I'm looking to order a custom Roscoe and would prefer to raise fund for it.

This bass costs new $5000 +/-. Looking to get $2488 plus shipping.

Hey man,
That would be a Green Machine! :) Cool bass, but nobody has interest? The same happened at Leftybass as well. Hope I can bump this, but it is a bit out of my league (money and skill-wise)..

But, I am curious as to how this bass (ash body + brazilian rosewood) sounds? I mean, is it a Jamerson-Pastorius-Miller 'all-in-one' (provided the use of the right strings and so on)?

In other words: how wide is the tonal variety? And can we hear it? :)

Sure, I can make some samples tomorrow.

It sounds like the best P/J you've ever heard. It won't do Marcus Miller because you need a Jazz bass for that; the P/J pickup configuration won't give you that sound, but it will do the Jaco thing in spades, it will give you the Jamerson thing is spades, and it would do the Victor Wooten thing, too (trademark P/J sound).

It's one of the best Fender-like basses I've owned. If I wasn't so attached to my Jazz and P, I'd just play this and be done, but I can't bring myself to sell my "vintage" Fenders, and I can't (shouldn't) keep all of them. Not to mention the shape of the neck and playability in this Sadowsky that are oh-so-perfect.

Anyway, I don't want to sound like a moron saying that this is the best bass ever, yet I'm selling it, but it is. . . ;)

Stay tuned for some samples.

As promised, here's a little demo. I boosted the onboard bass control just a tad, maybe 1/4 of a turn - it's a very powerful boost.

https://soundcloud.com/dj-fazha/sadowsky-pj-demo

First is the P pickup solo, then the same but with the vintage control cutting the highs, then both pickups, and finally the bridge pickup soloed. See the comment in Soundcloud. Strings are new Elixir super light gauge.

Excuse the ungrooving, unmelodic senseless noodling. . .

As you can hear, the bass has it all: it's warm, super deep, yet punchy and really clear. Plug your computer or phone in your bass amp so you can hear the bass through your setup.
